Supporting Our Community Since 1953
For 70 years talented amateurs from Pekin and the surrounding area have given their time and talent to entertaining people in our community by presenting a musical variety show. The proceeds from our performances support the arts and other non-profits. We are proud to have given monetary support of over $250,000 to these local organizations. Our chorus is comprised of 60-80 adults of all ages who enjoy singing and dancing to appreciative audiences that typically number around 2000 for our 5 performances.
Pekin Civic “Bicentennial” Chorus 2024
Our upcoming show, “Singing With the Stars”, will be held in conjunction with the Pekin Bicentennial celebration in 2024. PCC will be the highlighted event of the month during our show. This is a great opportunity to help Pekin celebrate 200 years!
Our show, “Singing With the Stars” will be filled with great music from many of your favorite great artists – Pink, John Legend, Beatles, Rick Steley, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Elton John, Frankie Valli, Broadway stars and more!!
If you sang with us before, this is a great time to return and be a part of this fun Bicentennial event! We’ve missed you! If you’ve never given civic chorus a try, come and audition! No prepared pieces are needed – just show up! Auditions will be held Wednesday, January 10 at 7pm and Sunday, January 14 at noon at Grace Methodist Church.
As you may know, Civic Chorus has been performing since 1953 and are celebrating our 70th birthday this year. We’ve been singing and entertaining the Pekin community and have given back over $225,000 to various organizations – especially our schools – in support of the arts in Pekin. Come see us! Come support us! Come and enjoy a great evening of music at the F.M. Peterson Theater under the direction of Dr. James Rimington. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed!!
